Description
The defendant-appellant, Peter R. Barbara, a former attorney of the Detroit Bar,*fn1 entered a plea of guilty to all three counts of an information filed by the United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Michigan. The information charged him with the interstate transportation of forged securities and with mail fraud during the course of the operation of his law office. The guilty pleas were entered pursuant to a plea agreement with the United States Attorney under Fed.R.Crim. P. 11. The agreement limited the maximum possible sentence of appellant to two and one-half years of imprisonment and a possible fine of $16,000. The district judge imposed the maximum sentence allowable under the terms of the agreement. This appeals attacks the sentence.
